Thyroid Eye Disease CE

Cases & Conversations™: Advancing the Optimal Diagnosis & Treatment of Thyroid Eye Disease

Location: Virtual (free) or Fajardo, Puerto Rico at EnVision Summit

Time: 5:30pm–6:30pm Atlantic Standard Time

The prevalence of thyroid eye disease (TED) in patients with Grave’s disease is estimated to be 40%. Classic symptoms include eyelid retraction, proptosis, dysmotility, and diplopia; however, the disease is often misdiagnosed as allergic or relapsing conjunctivitis since tearing and hyperemia are predominant features. In this presentation, expert faculty will discuss targetable factors in the pathophysiology of TED, how to efficiently diagnose it, and optimizing medical therapies for treating patients with TED.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Summarize the risk factors associated with TED.
  • Apply an algorithmic approach to the diagnosis of TED using appropriate clinical assessment tools.
  • Implement appropriate and individualized treatment modalities for the management of patients with TED.
  • Describe the roles and responsibilities of multidisciplinary care team members in the management of patients with TED.
