Advances in the management of ocular diseases are rapidly adding to treatment options. New treatments are advancing care. In addition, new devices for diagnosis and monitoring eye disease are helping earlier diagnosis and more accurate follow up. Timely communication between all members of the eyecare team has also emerged as a critical factor in ensuring good patient outcomes.

The 18th Annual Controversies in Modern Eye Care continues the meeting’s goal of encouraging a dialogue between optometrists and ophthalmic surgeons in order to optimize patient care. The meeting brings together top optometry and surgical experts to share clinical insights and advances in eye care, allowing learners to update their diagnostic, monitoring, and disease management and practice management skills. Topics will include updates in neovascular age-related macular edema, diabetic macular edema and geographic atrophy.
